I got my x800 yesterday and did some very quick benchmarks using the Benchemall program. The 9700Pro benches were taken a couple days ago using Omega 4.3 drivers. The x800Pro benches were done using the drivers that came on the CD. I did not check their version number. I'm using Windows XP Pro/SP1 and DX9.0b. I have not really done any tweaking to my system and I never shutdown background tasks when I play games. As a result programs like NAV and Internet Security are running in the background. I do use cacheman to make sure I have as much free memory as possible, typically around 770-780mb. Also my system is not overclocked at all.

The only item that is not correct on that listing is my Mushkin PC3500 will arrive today so these benches were taken with 1GB of Crucial PC2700.

I had been playing Far Cry with the 9700 at 800x600 resolution with many of the settings on Very High, Low AA and 1xAF. It was playable but the graphics tended to be shimmery at that resolution. Last night I played with everything at Very High, water at ultra high, 4xAF, Low AA at 1152x864 and it looked beautiful on the x800 and my framerates never dropped below mid 40's. I used Fraps to check in-game framerate.
I'm assuming that the PC2700 is creating a bottleneck at the CPU and that's why there is such a small spread between 640x480 and 1600x1200 on the x800. I'll bench again after I install the faster memory.
