My eyes have seen the light, for I now own an HDTV!

Text

After a lengthy process to get my TV from a Philips wholeseller, I finally have an HDTV tube to call my own! I'm very impressed so far considering it's a refurb, but for $350 shipped this TV is cosmetically perfect and packed with features (HDMI as well). I'm probably going to pick up an extended 2 year warranty tomorrow for only $60 more, I can't fully recommend the place I got it from without a few more days of watching but so far I'm blown away and like what I see without even messing with the picture/color options much. I decided to buy small and cheap for now since I still live with the parents and it's going in my bedroom, so later on I can break the bank for a little more when I get a living room to put a TV in. I'll keep you guys posted on how it works out.

Wait till you watch your first HD Football game.

That's a religious experience.

Do you notice much difference between Fox/ABC(720p) and CBS/NBC(1080i)?

I believe the Comcast box does the scaling.

My set doesn't do 720p, but I did a little research before buying and am pretty sure the cable box does just convert it to 1080i. That being said however I do think CBS/NBC looks a little "crisper" then Fox/ABC.

It's hard to settle for anything less than HD once you get it. Thing is, a crappy program in HD is still a crappy program. But something like football? Yeah, it's way way better in HD.

From what I hear Hockey is by far the best in HD and I loves my Flyers, so that's what I can't wait for! By the way the surround on this thing is beautiful! Nice and loud but clear and good imagery, amazingly.
