My eye hurts

I laugh as much as anyone at these medical advice threads, but I am stuck at work. My right eye sort of hurts, but not enough that I thik I ought to go to the ER. I am hoping it passes, but ti is weird. What sort of things can make your eye hurt in a spot sort of above the eye, not an over all burning like if smoke gets in your eyes.

Dull, chronic pain? Sharp, acute pain? Burning? What kind of pain?

Could be sinus problems, stye, infection, irritation, abrasion...lots of things.
