My ExxonMobil credit card was stolen and used many times

$1600 bill.

I didn't notice the card was missing until now when I looked at my latest statement.

Who TF goes to a gas station 3 times the same day with seperate purchases of $49, $55, and $69? There are purchases over $100 too. How much gas can someone buy?

Dude's not too smart either, all these purchases were made at the same location.

Hope they nail his ass and send him to FPMITAP.

Hopefully you don't get screwed over by the cc company.

Called them, they seemed willing to work it out, they're opening an investigation. They said they can check the cameras and what not.

Look for someone with three SUVs in the driveway. 😛

Seriously though, that sucks. 🙁 I assume you have a Visa/Mastercard logo, though..you shouldn't be responsible for the entire bill, correct?

Well, I guess they filled their own car, called their mom at the trailer park and got her to come out and fill her car, and told their sister to drive over to the station and fill her car as soon as her shift at McDonald's was over.

The gas station should have his vehicle recorded by their cameras, it should be easy if he visited 3 times in one day 😛

Hope not.

The guy could also be buying cigarettes I guess. There's also a deli there.

That's only if he's buying gas. Maybe he's selling cigarettes somewhere.

They should be able to match the times on the purchases with the security cameras in the store..if it was the same person all three times, I'd think they have a good chance at finding him/her. Heck..assuming three ~$50+ purchases from the same person, the clerk might remember..

You're calling him stupid, but you can't even realize he's using a credit card with NO pin at a gas pump. Yeah the gas pump is going to check his ID...

Even when you buy stuff inside at the register, they usually don't check ID.

That's what I'm thinking. And all of his buddies, too. Maybe even sold the cc.

I had a check book stolen, the bank was really cool about it. One of the stores was kind of a jerk about it, after I gave them all the paperwork required by the State (Utah). they kept threatening me with taking the amounts paid on the stolen checks to a credit agency. I talked this over with a lawyer at my bank (Wells Fargo) and he got that straightend out really fast.

People that stole the check book bought a lot of groceries, well, at least used the card at grocery stores a lot. Though the one company giving me hassles was a large department store (the kind of "anchor stores" at the malls). Wells Fargo was great, refunded the stolen funds closed my old account and opened a new one right away. Minimal paperwork and a police report. Was a very pleasant expirience for having a check book stolen.

stupid for using the card at a gas station ore than once...and im assuming one that is close to where he lives

he could have sold the card or hit up various different places

You need to write to the credit card company right away. A call isn't good enough if they decide to give you a hard time about the charges.

what? 😕

You do realize that even regular credit cards can be stolen/lost in the same manner and used in the same manner as the OPs CC was right?

Why should theft make any difference on which card you apply for?

Why would it matter if I write or call? They can screw me either way.

How did they get your credit card without you knowing? How long did they have it before you found out?
