This is my 1st time using a motherboard built my Asus' little value brother, ASRock.
I ordered the P4AL-800 from newegg a couple days ago and it arrived today. $53 with free shipping
Its based on the ALI M1683 chipset, supports 800fsb, agp8x, ddr400 (single channel), hyperthreading, 4 usb 2.0, 5.1 audio, 10/100 ethernet, and it has a feature built into that makes the mobo no longer require a p4 power connector so theres no need to upgrade you PSU if you have a strong unit with no P4 connector.
Installation was a breeze The headers are clearly marked for the power switch and speaker connectors etc. The bios layout looks exactly like all of Asus' current models. The only bios option i missed was theres only generic CAS timing adjustments. One thing i noticed, the memory controller does not have to be in sync with the cpu, this means you can run old DDR2100 (266mhz) with a Pentium 4 C, you CAN'T do this with a lot of motherboards.
It came with a CD full of drivers (that all worked, this is a major issue with some of the "value" manufacturers), the silver case shield bracket, a large detailed installation manual. 1 ATA100 cable, and 1 floppy cable.
Their website was very fast and very easy to navigate at http://www.asrockamerica.com this tends to be another major issue with value manufacturers that ive experienced, i was able to find bios updates and all my drivers within a few minutes, and was able to download them at the maximum speed my DSL can DL (92KB/sec).
All in all id say this motherboard KILLS everything else in its area that i've worked with.
