My experience installing my Radeon 8500dv with Windows98...

Well i finally got it today. First off, here's my system:
Abit SE6 (intel 815e chipset)
P3 866es @ 1ghz
256 megs pc133
3 x wd 40 gig ata100 7200rpm hds
Windows98SE

I did not do a fresh format because i didn't have an ATI card in before (it was a Matrox g450). So i set my display to VGA and shutdown. Put the card in and start Windows back up. I did the easy installation, and it detected my OS as Windows 98 and for this reason, it did not install the driver. So i install everything else, restart and it detects the card, so I install the driver manually this way. It works just fine! The firewire port also works. I tried viewing my video through the DV port on the breakout box and I could view it and control the camera, so that was the thing I was happiest about. I also just captured 15 minutes of video from the TV tuner and that came out good as well. I'm just using the drivers off of the CD for now, if I get anything weird happening I will update. Anyways, I just wanted to tell you guys of another story of a person using Windows 98 and being successful.
