Congratulations on making it through your first week.
I do have a question, though. Has management started the brainwashing process yet for you to start pushing extended warranties on unsuspecting customers - even though the cost of the extended warranty might cost more than the actual item itself?

Eh people dun tend to push em real hard, the profit made from them varies, some people end up making claims and that makes it less profit, but we're supposed to ask everytime, the thing that makes them profit is selling people accessories, like a 25 dollar usb cable for the printer. lol most the people who've bought extended warrenties so far as people that are rich over their heads lol, you know the people driving the BMW 7 series around, and buying plasma TV's and so on. I myself dont like the idea of extended warreties on desktops at all, but that's me, on laptops, since it covers batteries and crap, their easier to sell because theirs more chance they will use it. Oh and if anyone wants to know i found a catch in the policy, if any computer overheats, whether the computers fault or not its covered, so if a laptop cracked from sitting in the sun it's actually covered, I'm not sure about fires, but they should cover it with how it's worded lol.
Anyways I was before working at AMC Theatres Inc, possibly one of the worst companies in the world, my god do they hate their employees! I was promissed overtime pay for working 13 hours on christmas without pay, but they said nope the day after, if i try and do anything about it they'd fire me. The corporation views it's employees literally as slaves, and if at any second you are not sweeting from work, you get yelled at it's insane... at least at the one i worked at, they do now have labor lawsuits pending from a couple people i know now though lol, besides all that the ammount of self advertising they've gone to is insane, i will never ever see a movie at AMC at least paying for it. But seriously, AMC doesn't treat customers well, but it treats their employees like dirt, 85% of new hires quit lol within 3 months.

A word of advice for you from an ex-retail employee; I went to a different job about four weeks ago and after sixteen months of working retail, I was ready to start punching "customers".
Anyway. The advice is this: don't go out of your way to make sure that people have 100% correct advice if it's going to take you more than fifteen minutes to explain it. 99% of the time, it goes in one ear and out the other and then they'll be back, complaining and bitching at you personally or a manager. Believe me, the amount of times I've bent over backwards to help someone, and then they've come in ranting and raving because they didn't read the sodding manual was so unbelievably depressing that I had to leave retail or depression might have taken hold.
Work the hours, take home the money, and don't do anything more- it's honestly not worth it when you're dealing with ignorant, spoilt, stuck-up "customers" every single day.
