well, no one said there gonna be the same. Its still new. Plus, try overclocking the ATI and see how it does. Wonder if Radeon Tweaker will still work for it

Well u enabled smoothvision, which is anti aliasing. do the same for ur geforce3 and the scores will plummet. quality setting smoothvision and 5700 score aint bad at all.

IQ is nice. Definately not any worse then GeForce 3 Ti 500. Both cards looks very good on my Samsung 1200NF.

More tweaking, but no overclocking for Radeon....7595

Ummm... you are only showing a compare link. It is only showing us the GF3 Ti500 score. Post the compare link for the R8500, too.

BTW Wow, my GF3 Ti500 system blew away yours by just over 2000 points.:)

Well, for this first one I didn't run all of the tests only the 4 games, 9124, but here is one with all of the tests done, but with my cpu speed slightly lower. 9037. I'm pretty sure that I have my GF3 Ti500 running at 260/590 in both of them, but I'm not positive about that, because I just don't remember.:)

edit: Actually, now I think I maybe able to run it at 260/600, but I haven't performed any benches at that speed, yet.

for winXP?? there's no such thing as 7116 drivers AFAIK.. they're all in the 3000 series there.. the latest ones for the 8500 are the 3286 ones I think.. the ones before I think are 3281's.

and as for BFG10K's comment, if he looks at the 7191 driver pics, he would notice that the Radeon 8500 is actually using settings that raise the image quality HIGHER than the GF3 does, yet still manages to tie it in overall 3DMarks.

Some conclusions...

Radeon
----------
1) Half Life, which came with the Radeon, will not run in full screen mode using openGL at any resolution. Direct3D runs fine.
2) Quake 2 (v3.20) will run not run in full screen mode under certain resolutions.

I didn't find any other problems with some other games. However, I experienced low image quality with some games.

Anyone know of a fix for full screen mode problem?
