I am looking fo a printer that isn't too expensive, prints pretty good pics and doesn't eat a ton of ink. I don't want an all in one fax copier etc. I don't even care if it has a card reader. I have looked at a few brands and decided I might look at the Canon I860, it has good user ratings on cnet and consumer report. Opinions though will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

canons to seem to sell there ink more cheaply than competitors. And there photo quality when used with canon paper is second to none. I had three to four canons, epsons and a lexmark, hp.
All pritners used were ok but here are my criticism for some.

LExmark ink is expensive.

Epson you must send your printer to the facttory to change the print head

hp pretty solid

canon great pics

Well my fiance went out and bought the printer while I was at work, she was impatient and wanted to be able to print pictures from our Scotland trip we just got back from. We talked about going when I got home and about the I860. Well she got the Canon I960 instead. She printed some pis and they look great. It cost allitle more, I think it was $160. Time will tell!

I've had great luck with a lexmark z45. The cartridges are easy to refill for great savings. . . No jams, fast, quiet.

The Canon i860 is a very good printer, the Canon i865 is even better but I believe it`s not available in the USA,I`m using one here in the UK and find it excellent in all areas.
