Got rid of my QX6700...they need H2O and I really don't have time now...when the next CPU's come out! ANYWAYS....Using an E6600. Installed my RMA board last night and put the Enzo on it...out of the case an absolute must. My room is 71-72F, but my computer is under my desk near the AC vent which is great when it's on...it's the heat vent too though...AT boot I get 29-30 at he start, so that's the baseline. My Idle temps were low 30's. Never once during the hour unOC'ed did it exceed 44C even with Orthos. I OC'ed to 3000mhz..Idle was mid 30's, Load never exceeded 49C in Orthos, Everest stabilty or Super Prime. Today I put on my 150 CFM Delta fan and went for more. I could go on all day but right now I am running 3600mHz.
My CPU is at 1.35, memory at 2.1, FSB 1.4, HT 1.3, PCI-E at 1.45, nforce at 1.5. I have had no issues with stabilty. WHile working right here, AC off by the way, I am at 40 and 40. I just ran ORTHOS for 45 minutes doing the small FFT's. My HIGHEST temp was 59C, mostly 57-58. I think that's pretty good for air. Maybe it could be better, but until I lap my TR 120 Extreme(has a very high spot) I cannot compare. The TR also needs another glue pad which means I may need to but a new mobo piece..:(.
My temps are nothing like AN's reviews but they don't seem too bad, and considering the system has not had a glitch yet at 3.6 I'm happy so far. I may be able to go higher but That will msot likely be an issue temp wise. It'd be nice if the TR120X worked like it did in the review..kncking 10C off the temps I have would be great! But I am not holding my breathe...lol
AN really should review it. I'm putting the more quiet Delta 120 CFM on it tomorrow. That should be good compromise for the noise level, yet moving alot of air.

Thanks for the report!

I guess flat EnzoTech Ultra-Xs trump warped TR eXtremes, yes? :D

Why don't you RMA the eXtreme?!?!?

I did ..the one I have is the RMA. At this point I'll try lapping...$50 experiment. If I do a good job, it may cool better than the Enzo, if not I'll be ready to lap the 6600! lol The RMA'e Xtreme did cool much better than the first one, but not near to the review. But, I think I wrote in another post, when I took it off the 6700 there was an almost dime sized spot void of AS5....not a void in an application mistake..but a pressue void...nice perfect circle. So maybe lapping will do the trick. If so I could go for 50C at 3.6 under heavy load!! LOL

...Thanks for the report. On the subject of temperatures, there's a few things you should keep in mind about the ones AT is reporting:

- He doesn't use Orthos to create load, he loops some game demo (I don't recall which, off-hand). This may give a more 'real world' example, but it does make it harder for folks to correlate with the temps they see.

- He's using an X6800 chip, which has a 14x multiplier and runs 'stock' at 2.93GHz. He doesn't mention the voltage used to get to each overclock (unless I missed it), so we don't have that info either.

...of course different air-flow setups will also make a difference. Anyway, those sound like decent temps for Orthos/Prime.

Why do you say that?
Is it bigger than TR Ultra-120 Extreme?

What do you mean by that?

I in no way shape or form could install it with the mobo half out of the case. I got the backplate in fine but could not screw the screws down at all.

I took the plastic off the TR glue pad and it was fused to the mobo, so i need another for the spacing/cushion.

If I do the same for Enzo, will I be able to install without removing the motherboard? Or, will I not be able to reach the screws?

:nice work on that cut, wish case mfgs would do something similar especially when they dont use motherboard trays.

When I installed mine I did it outside of the case but I suppose it could be done inside if you've got room to manuever to reach the thumb screws.

If you have room and can reach then you can screw them in, but there are a couple that I could only screw down form the side, with my fingers between the heatpipes....

I'm still happy with this cooler and just ordered another one for my sons machine. I'm giving him my e6400 and moving to a GO quad just as soon as my newegg order arrives.

Well yesterday the enzotech went out and the ultra chilltec went in. It keeps my q6600 temps at 60F at idle and 95ish on the core and 118F tjunc under 100% load running intel burn test. My enzotech was hitting 160F during that test on the tjunc and 150F on the cores so they don't even compare and both had as5 on them. Since I decided to stay with 775 a little while longer I also decided to get a better cooler and the ultra chilltec is certainly that. Now I'm contemplating replacing the q6600 with a q9550 or 9650 but I'm gonna let the prices fall even more before I go there.

ROFL comparing the TRUE to ENZO going from a quad to a dual. OF COURSE the Enzo is going to be cooler. Reverse the situation and compare them on the same chip at LOAD. ;)
