And I don't even know why.
:|
Here's what happened..
Someone asked how long the essay needs to be.. and he said 1000 words, and he asked if anyone knew how long 1000 words is.
I softly muttered 3 pages,
Ane he asked me.. did you just exhale? I replied.. Yes
Then he asked me how long i thought 1000 words was, and i said around 3 pages..
He then said.. does that seem herculean and I replied.. no.. that seems miniscule
Then he said.. why did you *sigh*
I said I didn't.. I just muttered "3 pages"
Then he said.. but you said you exhaled.. didn't you exhale?
and I replied... no I didn't sigh.. I thought when you said exhale, you meant to breathe out, then in that case, I exhale every second
Then he said.. take your stuff and leave..
I think he thought I "exhaled" in disappointment when he said 1000 words, but I really said 3 pages. Then he thought I was lying to defend myself when I claimed that I didn't sigh, but just muttered 3 pages.
But he decided to kick me out of his class anyways.

EDIT:
OK I accidently missed an important part, I am only kicked out for today.
If I was kicked out permanently, then I'd definitely be complaining to the dean.
Also this is a college class.. who calls HS teachers, "professors"?
UPDATE:
His email to me..
first of all, you were without a pen when attempting to take the quiz. second, while everybody else was taking notes during my lecture, you sat with nothing on your desk, and with your feet propped upon the desk in front of you. third, you exhaled obnoxiously after i announced that the essay should house at least 1,000 words. and then, when i offered you an opportunity to explain your actions, you engaged in double-talk, and you attempted to be witty. in short, you were disrespectful.
none of the three actions you performed this evening is conducive to creating an environment where teaching and learning are honored. thus, if you like my class, then please respect it.
since you have already taken the quiz, you do not need to do so again. however, it would be valuable for you to attend my english 68 class on wednesday night from 7-10 in 26d-111.
My finaly revision of my reply that I sent out to him
Prof. Mc Faul,
I apologize for any troubles I?ve caused tonight but I would like to point out a few misunderstandings between us.
1. I came to class without a pen, my fault. But I borrowed one before class started, and before you handed out the quiz. Not while I was attempting to take the quiz. I will make sure I come prepared to class in the future.
I propped my foot under the book holder under the chair. It is very common for students to do this. If this is an offense to you, I apologize and I will remember not to do it again.
2. I felt that you have already discussed the things you talked about in your lecture in the previous lecture last week, and the ?however? alternatives you said in class was in the textbook. So I felt that I had no need to write down what you said. Doing so also detracts my attention to your lecture. I am sorry if I made you feel that I wasn?t paying attention. But I personally don?t learn best copying everything down and memorizing them. I learn best by understanding the concepts.
3. Most importantly, I did not ?exhale?. I explained to you that I simply mumbled ?3 pages? as an answer to your question ?does anyone know how many pages are 1000 words?. You misheard the mumble as an exhale. However, there was also a misunderstanding on my part. When you initially asked me if I exhaled, I took it literally. I thought by saying exhale, you meant to breathe out. Thus, I answered yes to the question, when I really meant no in the context you put it in. I honestly think that 3 pages is nothing. In fact, in my last essay that had a 600words requirement, I wrote almost four pages. In fact when you said 1000 words, I thought to myself, wow only around 3 pages. Please do not take it the wrong way.
I sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings, but please understand that I had no intentions of disrupting the class. I honestly think you are one of the best English teachers I?ve had. You are really good at explaining the concepts with many examples. You make the class a fun learning environment for me. This class is very important to me, and my success in this class will also be very important for me to get into the honors program in the summer. But please don?t get the idea that I don?t care about your class, and that I don?t respect you.
I will be going to class on tomorrow, with hopes that I can make up what I missed today. But I hope you can explain to me anything I missed on tonight, and how I can make it up. I remember we were supposed to watch a movie tonight, so I would definitely want to watch that.
Mike

I included a question regarding a malfunction in his online grades at the end. He didn't repsond to my reply to him. He only responded to my question at the very end.
But the fact he read the last question indicates that he read through the entire letter.
