My employer makes no sense...

I have been working for the same company since March of 2003, and am 21 years old. Without getting into details, I have attendance issues but when I come to work I am probably one of the best TS reps in the industry. We just hired another TS rep not too long ago who does a good job, but in my opinion, has catching up to do to be at my overall level of CS ability and overall job skill in general.

My company decided to cut my hours, after knowing I make hardly any money as it is and not giving me a raise for the 2 1/2 years I've been here. BTW, the cut was in my opinion a personal move made without any rationale. Case in point: A CEO who constantly tells me to get to work because our department is too busy. My case in point: I haven't take a lunch in the past two weeks of work so I could get stuff done.

Anywho, I am going to be leaving to be a tech at a mom and pop shop making more money and I might continue here part time.

A) Can sombody buy me a beer, as I am used to making full-time pay, which has been cut in half. I have an apartment, insurance, car payment, cell phone, cable bill, etc. and am fully independent. I have no family to loan me 5 bucks, nevertheless a place to stay while I completely reorganize my life.

I just hope that our customers are taken care of when I am gone. I could honestly care less about the company now, but I do like to make sure other people aren't screwed over, which is why I try my best at my job. I really do go an extra mile with each customer, just because I thrive on doing CS.

Anywho, here's cliffs:

A)My employer sucks ass and cut my hours
B)I am going crazy because I have had this job for 2 1/2 years and have gotten settled
C)Buy me a beer

im betting it has to do with attendance issues...

you can be the best at what you do but if you dont show up what does that really matter....

most employees will rather have mediocre and dependable than superstar but unreliable

When you're one of the only in your department...

Yeah, my attendance had a lot to do with it, but there is other reasons at play. My department will suffer from cutting hours, I don't think they realize how much just yet. If I leave, two other employees will have to really evaluate their job, as it would make their jobs hell.

You have attendance issues yet think you are "one of the best"...."when you are there". Reread that several times. Your arrogance and irresponsibility are simply catching up with you. You ARE obviously replaceable and the company is moving to do so since youu can not be relied upon. You reap what you sow. Grow up.

How would that be different than when you don't show up? At least this way they know not to count on you.

Seriously, grow up. 21 going on 12. Your employer makes perfect sense. It seems to me they want to make you, make up their mind to get you to leave.

any who ha, it is my expectation to receive a raise yearly. you should elaborate on your attendance issues. maybe you are lucky that they didn't fire you.

My company takes a hard line on punctuality. If you're more than an hour late for five days a year you may be put on probation. More than 15 min. late on probation, blam -- fired. I think it's a great policy.

If I was your employer or manager - I would fire you. Well..I would first warn you - late again and you're out of here unless it is something serious like car accident or family emergency.

I don't care if you are the best - that means sh!t to me as an employer/manager - it reflects poorly on me, no matter if you do good service while you ARE there.

So yeah...I'd given you the boot.

What is your problem that attendance is such an issue? I really would like to know.

You know what your problem is? You don't realize how REPLACEABLE you really are. You've been there for 2.5 years with less than perfect attendance and you expect a friggin raise? You're young, stupid, thick-headed and oblivious to the real world. Your little position could easily be off-shored to India where people work harder for less money and still be very appreciative of their job. Think real hard for a moment....

Best to find out now that attendance matters, instead of when you're 45 and would find it difficult to get another job.

If I was a betting woman, and, well - I am, I'd lay dollars to donuts that his username is a big clue.
