It's only my left elbow and the surrounding area, and it's tinted a dark color - but it's not dirt. It's extremely rough.

What the heck causes this . . . ? Lotion helps, but only temporarily. Should I get a dremel and grind it off? ;)

You know, I wonder if that's also on the list of things that annoys Jerboy too?

Get some 40 Grit sand paper, a sander, and hit it while it's running with your elbow. Your elbow will then be soft and bright red.

Get one of those things I had while there. That seemed to help. Rub some Vaseline on it to soften it. It seems like I remember hearing that rubbing lemon on your elbow helped take away either discoloration or roughness too.

I looked up eczema, and it's a lot redder than this. It just looks like my elbow has a really, really dark tan.

Xerox Man.....sure sounds like Psoriasis to me. Get some lotion specifically made for the problem. Many different brands out there. I use MG217.....also Blue Star ointment works well.

A body glove (you use it while you shower) get some sea salt body scrub and apply with the glove, then Vaseoline intensive care or the mositurising product of your choice :)

Are you behind the PC a lot? If so, are you leaning on your elbow? I have found that I have a rough elbow, and it is because of the fact that I am always leaning on it when I am on the computer.

Pretty sure it's not psoriasis, the pictures I've found on the net look nothing like it. Caveman mentioned something about having the same thing happen when it's real dry, and it is very dry here . . . my knuckles are all screwed up, too.

Try the Psoriasis lotion....I get the same stuff on my knuckles also. Doesn't always look the same and symptoms vary. Can't hurt to try....only takes a few days to see results.

After sitting here and rubbing lotion on it for an hour, it looks a lot better and isn't quite as rough. Maybe just dry, I don't know. I'm gonna pick up some pumice and bag balm and go to town.

My girlfriend gets that exact same thing... it's soriasis (spelling) at least that is what she found from looking over articles on the net. It get passed down through your family and there is no known "cure" as such, just lotions and other things to temporarily moisten it.

Your could be different, but it sounds exactly like my girlfriends.

It's not psoriasis. Nobody else in my family has it and it's been a recent development in the last couple of years - after I moved from a high humidity environment to a low humidity environment. It also looks nothing like psoriasis; it just looks like my elbow is dirty.

"It's not a tuma!"

So your not leaning on it for long periods of time right? If not you can ask a pharmacist at a Rite-Aid or something along those lines, they are usually pretty knowledgeable on treatments. I'd see a doctor just to be sure though.

It's the elbow I lean on when I'm at the computer and the elbow I have on the window sill of my car.

This thread is rather funny....Xerox Man stated he also gets the stuff on his knuckles. So the callus therory would indicate XM walks on his knuckles excessively...hummmm. Have a banana?

Psoriasis is the diagnosis......Trust me. Heh.
