my E6300 stays in speed step all the time-biostar T965

I have the fsb at 300 and that should be about 2.1gighz. But the various monitors say 1.8gig (cpu-z) and core temp says 1.995 (with a 333?fsb). Voltage seems to say at 1.003 in cpuz.

I think you can turn off the speedstep stuff (EIST, I think) in the BIOS. I'm unfamiliar with that board specifically but it's an intel technology so it's name should be similar.

Is it at 7x while running Orthos? If so, it's functioning like it's supposed to function. I.E., it should be at 6x 100% of the time, unless you're running software that's putting much of a load on your cpu.

Yep, it was still showing x6 even in othos - selected load optimized defaults in bios and now its back to x7 again (even at light loads.. but better than before). Im happy now.
