My e4500 needs a new home

So I have an e4500 and I know it's capable of 3Ghz+. The problem is, I have an ASRock 4coredual-SATA2 which can't overclock and use SATA at the same time. I'm looking for something that will overclock my e4500 nicely (not a challenge) and let me play around with my memory timings a bit.

I was thinking of going for a P43 (although grabbing a P45 and going Crossfire has crossed my mind) but I was wondering if I would be fine with a P35. I have an HD3850, so PCI-E2.0 would be nice, but I am highly doubting my card would really need all that bandwidth.

I would prefer suggestions of Intel chipsets, but if there's an nVidia chipset that would work better, I'm willing to go that route.

It depends on your skills. The diehard overclockers LOVE to mod & abuse P965 like Commando. There is quite a number of people who overclock their Q6600 to over 3.6Ghz on nvidia chipsets. If you want something else, look into GA-EP45-DS3L/R.

Getting P35 is better than P43. With my Abit IP35Pro I can easily get my E4500 to hit 3.2Ghz. I've gotten 3.5Ghz but it's too hot.

that depends, P45s just coming out, they have bit nicer specs than P35s. A high end P35s already costing as much as a P43/45s. So you won't save much cash going P35s. Although If you want a P45, I'd suggest you wait until rev 2 of these boards, so they get time to iron out problems and tweak up BIOS etc. your e4500 is an easy OC no matter which board you get, but I'd get something nicer than you need simply when time comes for you going 45nm chip you will have the board to OC that to the max.
