My e-cig showed up yesterday!

My e-cig showed up yesterday, after patently waiting all night, i finally get to use it today. I'll get to continue the smoking I love without all those nasty chemicals, and best yet, I have vanilla ice cream and strawberry flavored juice, yummy.

Text for the curious, also Text is where I started reading and found the stores, for the interested.

I can't wait to start vaping around campus, I have a feeling I'll be getting a few strange looks while I'm smoking in the middle of the library :laugh: there's nothing better than whipping it out when no one is expecting it! :Q

Anyone else have one? I'm curious to see how others have done with these.

Saw this on a show recently. Everyone they asked said they just use it as a replacement. No real intention of quitting.

These don't seem quite as satisfying as smoking an actual cigarette. You lose a lot of the feel. And I'd have to retire my Zippo. However the idea of "smoking" almost anywhere and the health aspect are very tempting.

I think they emit water vapor which initially looks like smoke but dissipates very quickly instead of lingering like cigarette smoke. You could probably smoke at your desk and no one would know.

If it gets people off of smoking without needing drug laden patches or pills and without shoveling handfuls of food in their mouths then more power to them.

As already stated, it does "smoke", but it's just water vapor. I usually only smoke 1/2-3/4 of a pack per day, the equivalent for a cigarette for these (after shipping and extra atomizers and cartridges etc) is about 4-6 cents (might have even been less, I can't quite recall) as opposed to 20-21 cents, so it's at most 1/3 the cost (roughly). This equates to around $600/year for me saved. I have read stories of people quitting, and plan to quit smoking regular cigs all together with this device. The most interesting thing, is people have actually gotten permission to use these on planes and the like. The ice cream is good, haven't had a chance to try strawberry yet.

This is the DSE901b, my friend and I both got one, the vanilla ice cream is great, and I have yet to try the strawberry, however if you're looking for new flavors, you might try this. That's the place I ordered my juice from, and that sample pack is a good deal, my friend got the sampler, all 10 flavors, several of them I'm very curious to try and may be able to report on them later tonight.

I'm thinking about telling my roommate about this(would be great if he no longer smelled of cig. smoke!), however I'm just wondering if you think it's a good enough replacement. Or at least a good enough temporary one so that he wouldn't feel the need to smoke normal ones as much?

It's definitely different, the smoke isn't as full as that of a cigarette and it's definitely not quite as satisfying per drag, but between the money I'm saving and health aspect, its well worth it for me.

It is definitely good enough to replace most of the cigs he would smoke, if not all of them, but he'd have to be into it too, because it's definitely different, but the money/smell/health/convenience is fantastic, and if he thinks it's interesting I'd definitely recommend he give it a try.

i think i may try these. pretty much a wash money wise i guess but the ability to "smoke" anywhere and not smelling like stale butts is worth a try.

So these vaporizers still have the nicotine of cigarettes, but not the tar? I have a feeling being able to 'smoke' whenever the fuck you now feel like it is going to cause even more issues in the addiction department.

Not to nit-pick (sp?) but the patches are hardly "drug laden"...basically a bandaid and nicotine which you get from smoking anyways...no new chemicals introduced.
Pills OTH, I see your point. However they can be very effective, and end the habit completly instead of replacing it w/ the e-cigs. Don't get me wrong, I think ecigs are 1000x better than smoking a regular cig, but it's still going to be a long term habit which may be very difficult to break. So much safer though, so if you plan on smoking long term w/ no intention of quitting, then I think these are great.
