Darn. And things were looking so good for it. It hit 850 @ 1.7 with no prob. Then 867 @ 1.7 with a 102 fsb. Froze at 950 @ 1.7. Oh well. A 250MHz increase is better than nothing. Tested on a MSI K7T-Pro2A with the stock heatsink/fan. Defaut board bios.

raise the voltage =) try out 1.75. see if u can handle it. maybe even try getting a differnt fan. i bet u can get a gig outta that thing at 1.85.

I'm too lazy to update the board bios. The highest the bios supports now is 1.7v. Thats why I didn't up it anymore. I'm sure it'll go higher with better cooling and higher voltage. But I don't need a gig. I'm perfectly happy at 600MHz. But it's fun to know what it'll do with a stock hs/f and only 1.7v. ;)

definitely update the bios man... think u got a gem there... my previous system was a duron which still ran cool at 1.85v

I say ur best bet is to get a new hsf for your duron. AND update the bios. The bios i have for my pro2-a board allows bios adjustments for cpu voltages up to 1.85 instead of normal 1.800. I needed this extra voltage to get my duron to a gigahertz.

Try bumping up your voltage. I ran my duron 800 at 1.75 at 950. Pushed my voltage up to 1.85 to get the computer to post at 10x multiplier.

If you're not seeing you're video card bios at boot up, it may be your processor startup voltage isn't high enough. Penciling the L7 bridges may be what you need to get it to work.

Before I did my L7 bridges I was only able to get my Duron 600 to boot up to 936MHz reliably @ 1.7V. Afterwards I've been able to get it up to 980MHz at 1.7V

Definately pencil all the L7s, which makes the chip default as 1.85v! My Duron 600 is running 1030mhz at 1.85volts. IF you didn't pencil it, the limit would be 1.7volts.

I wanted to pencil it in in the beginning. But my eyes and hand weren't working with me. I kept connecting the bridges. So I just said screw it. Whatever it does at 1.7 is good enough. I can run stable all day with a stock hs/f at 1.7v at 850MHz. Good enough for me. Anyone wanna trade for a 800MHz Duron that doesn't overclock very well? ;)
