It would make him lucky because he wouldn't have to renew his license.

means he doesn't have to go back every five years to pay the state to say " ok, let me change your expiration date by five years...there we go. That'll be $35 please"

in Arizona the license doesn't expire for 50 years from the date you get it.

You sure it's a Drivers License and not a NON DRIVER ID?

The Non-Driver ID i think lasts 30+ years...

i'd double check it if i were you. Here in NYC, Non-Driver ID and Driver's License look identical.

Thanks for posting this, I got curious and pulled my license out of my wallet to find that it had cracked in half. Guess I'll be getting it replaced soon.

EDIT: Interesting, the code for my restrictions (corrective lenses) has worn off completely. That's probably not supposed to happen.

yeah arizona has an absurd long time before it expires...but some people think its a fake outta state...i went to a bar in MD with a friend from there and they barely let him in cause they thought his ID was a fake since it didnt expire till 2037 or something...of course the next person who came with us had a Norwegian passport only which doesnt expire till like 80 years after u get it...his expired in like 2085.

was that question for me or the Thread originator? but i'll answer it anyway...i was a door man at a bar here in arizona. both the non driver ID and the drivers license have an expiration of 50 years. :)

As soon as I saw this, I had a feeling you were from Ohio. My Ohio friend broke his drivers license into 3 or 4 pieces skiiing last week. Made me love New York's indestructo-ID's that much more.

That just sounds bad though. 30,50,80 years without getting it renewed(drivers licsense, passport), that somewhat defeats the point doesn't it? Just the part that people change, grows older and look different, would be enough to do it more often. But how about eye exams and physical/mental problems.

TranceNation,

The DMV screwed up, it should be four years. Unless, of course, you're yanking some chains.

I dont know, but maybe you should do something about that? Maybe it really expires earlier, but it is written down with the date 2037, and than when you get pulled over for a speeding ticket in 2015, you will see yourself being hauled to jail. Maybe you should fix it?

How could he be held responsible for their mistake.....oh I forgot, it's the government. It'll probably cost ya $35 to get it fixed, but ya probably should.
