My Downloads keep breaking cause of my router... HELP!

i just got me a brand spanking new linksys router after an electrical storm killed my last one :|

and i'm happily downloading stuff when all of a sudden.... it stops for no apparent reason... and i wanna know how to fix this! i tried calling linksys to talk to a human and the human just read me the instruction manual! please help me!

BTW, i know the router is the culprit of my downloads breaking because when i have my computer directly connected to my cable modem... they don't break:Q

model - BEFW11S4 V.4 it's wireless

firmware - 1.45.7

I'm beginning to think that there are sum settings i haven't turned on or are configured wrong... how exactly should a lniksys wirelesss router be configured?

I have that exact same router, so I'll list for you what changes I made out of the box(in page order):

Enabled 128bit WEP for wireless
Changed SSID
Changed router password
Turned off uPnP services
Setup port forwarding as nessisary
Cloned my NIC's MAC address

And that's it, everything else is using its default settings. The only other differences I can think of is that my router's firmware is at 1.45.3, not .7; something may have been broken in the firmware. You may want to also search those forums we listed, your problem sounds very familar to some other problems I heard people talking about when the v.4 was introduced.

this is undoubtedly your problem. go to the linksys site. there will be install instructions there.

Well that is truely odd, since the newest firmware on the site is the same version you had: 1.45.7.:Q

Anyhow, as for the last 2 items, they're in the advanced section, under forwarding and MAC Addr. Clone respectively.
