That duct tape will eventually let go! Just make sure the wires are long enough so it still works when all the parts fall to the floor!

You unduh-estimate the powah of thu duct tape.

No but seriously that's great.

That's neat and all but I'd radther get a cheap $50 case and put it in that. Case>EMI & Static Electricity.

I was thinking of trying something similar (except I wouldn't use duct tape, I would screw the components down to a board or something). The beauty of that is that there is no need for case fans. Your mobo temp will always be room temp, and the CPU and video card will get the absolutely coldest air possible for your room.

It's the best air cooling & noise solution. Not to mention that it saves on space since you don't have a bulky case on the floor or on your desk. There's really no downside to it, that is unless you're one of those fruity form-over-function guys in which case you might as well go buy a Mac ;).

When your in college it's the results that matter most. I think it jams. Just watch the tape.

In my dorms, Purav (the case editor) and I lived next door. We only had a 10mb connection to the outside but unfortunately a 10mb connection from room to room.

So the solution was to drill a hole through the wall into Purav's room and run some quality Cat 5e to boost our connection to 100mb.

The next year Purav lived in an apartment behind mine. Immediately missing 100mb connectivity, we got on the phone lines and ran 1000Mb connection between the two apartments.

Never underestimate college kids with too much time on their hands.

That's nice. Duct tape is the greatest thing ever. Perhaps get a roll of that new Scotchtape Clear Duct tape? :) Since I'm a fan of duct tape imma go get a roll of it to try it out. I wonder if it's as strong as the original.

For the next project, try hanging the components from the ceiling. It'd be especially helpful if it was a drop-ceiling though.

yeah no joke.

Awsome computer though.

hope the chemo goes alright.
you know....for the cancer you and your roomate are going to get from the electromagnetic radiation.

Also, if thats an AMD system like I think.....take special care to not melt the concrete wall.
might also want to verify that the flash point of cinderblock is well above the "normal" temps for AMD computers--Its probably not, and that could be a fire hazard.

<sigh> good job though, Im also a college student. I ran a Half life Firearms server out of my dorm room also {5Mbit connection, how could I not?? :) } BUT my little operation was a bit more professional with a compaq proliant server. ....go figure, a server thats a server.

EDIT:
good, its an intel atleast.
And yeah, CS does suck....bad. And we dont care if you care what we care...I mean think. :p

CS sucks,..but some how firearms doesnt?

btw, AMD's now run cooler than intel.

to sum it up, you are a retarded n00b and need to leave the general hardware forums before other n00bs actually start to believe this BS that you are spouting.

Making fun of the heat AMD processors produce is as old as Michael Jackson and little boy jokes.
