my dorm room internet speed is disappointing

I'm at UCSD and from the dorms, I get about 100K/sec down and 35K/sec up. At home, I got about 150K/sec down and 16K/sec up. My friends at UCSB and UCSC are getting like 500K/sec down and even higher up! GAWD! :frown:
 
Some schools cap their network speed. You got it good compared to some. Use the extra time it takes to download movies to do some homework.
 
count yourself lucky
i cant even afford dsl ... local ISP is charging them on time based !
i'm only using an old 33.6k modem with a max download speed of 3.7k/sec
