updated, see first post...

The lady is just gettgng stranger and stranger. She wasn't a cool neighbor, but no one had any stories like this. We've all been neighbors for the better part of a decade too.. Other than a few noise disputes, it has been pretty good place to live.

I do kind of wonder why your dogs would maul another animal...don't sound like they're exactly appropriate for a neighborhood....BUT having said that (and being a cat-lover myself), this lady sounds a bit off keel......If I had a 2000 dollar cat that i used for breeding it wouldn't be wandering around outside..or if it was, it'd be in a fenced in yard.....

Do you know nothing about dogs? They will naturally protect their proptery and their owners. The cat invaded the yard and so they reacted. It isn't like they randomly went hunting other animals.

She clearly owes you for the original vet bills since her cat was trespassing.
Not to mention wear and tear on your dogs.

I've NEVER known a dog that would rip apart another animal in the yard, at least not one as big as a cat....cat's ain't much bigger than infants.......

You don't know how it started. The dogs could have been playing with the cat and it got out of hand.

My labrador retriever, probably one of the most easy going breeds there is, killed a kitten that somebody had thrown in my yard by trying to play with it.

Cat Lady calls to try to get money for replacement adopted cat up-front.
I refuse.
She tells me to go f&*k myself. We haven't spoken since.
Cat Lady's non-operable car is cited and towed.
She blames my next door neighbor or me for calling the cops on her.

Boy does she sound classy.

OP, you're more generous than I would be.

Heh, if she continues to harrass you (or your lawyer friend about this), then threaten to sue her for the $200 you paid the vet to look at and euthanize the cat.

BTW, Himalayan Tabbies don't cost $2000. One because a "Himalayan Tabby" would already be a mixed breed. Most likely you'll find them in a dumpster or alley, just like every other stray cat....just like the Himalayn Tabby mixed kitten that some guy brought into the vet clinic when I was there yesterday.

That stinks that you have to deal with living with neighbors like that mang. I hope all works out for the best and you guys can put it behind you and end up with a peaceful place to live. Having to deal with tension at work is lame, having to deal with it where you live is even more lame. I hope it works out for you buddy.
