My dogs are acting very strange. They're whimpering and the older one is trying desperately to get into the house...

It's strange, i might expect this sort of behavior from the younger dog, since we've only had her for about 1.5 years. But, we've had the older one for well more than 5 years. The older one was pawing at the screen door, and when i finally opened the door, she shot right in. She knows better and usually never does this. When i tried going back into the house, she would try to nudge her way through my legs. I don't know what's up with her. And the younger one is still whimpering... 😕 Think they know something i don't?

My dog goes crazy at night sometimes. The reason why is because of fireworks going off waaay in the distance that she can hear but we can't. Dogs have really good hearing and they are probably hearing something loud off in the distance that is scaring them.

Like what others have said, it could be some type of animal outside yer compound which is scaring yer dogs. It could also be fireworks. For the former, it really depends on how your dogs act to animals. I saw my puny dog go after a 4 feet long lizard (stupid fella). And the same dog went physically sick after the Chinese New Year celebrations due to the fireworks around my neighbourhood (puking and stuff like that).

Having said that, you might want to check your compound thoroughly just to be safe 🙂

We live in the NorCal hills and our dogs have acted like with a mountain lion around too. Where are you?

How big are mountain lions anyway?

/me Has never seen one... 🙂

I live near Los Angeles. It only seems to be my dogs. They've calmed down since then though. But, if an earthquake doesss occur tomorrow, well... :Q
