That's awesome. :)

Btw make sure your dog has tick protection, and watch for ticks in the house if the dog comes inside.

Won't get anywhere near people as I was using a 400mm lens, and I still had to crop the image, but the deer and my dog run around and chase each other from about dusk until tomorrow morning. I don't know whether I should be worried that the deer might hurt my dog, or be happy that she found a playmate.

Where in Texas do you live? I am guessing the Hill country near Austin. That looks like a nice area.

I was using the 50-200mm, but the crop factor makes it 400mm. It's also cropped about 50%.

The noise was terrible at ISO 1600 especially with the crop, so I had to run it through Neat Image.

Rio Medina area. It's about 10 miles west of San Antonio. It's really woody and nice out here, but go another 10 miles or so west and it turns into fvcking burnt desert. :p

That's a big dog, I wouldn't worry about her getting hurt. I suppose if it decided to kick... but dogs are designed to kill things like deer... my guess is it will be fine.

I'd like to see a chihuha (sp?) take on a deer. That'd just be entertaining.

LOL

I'm gonna set up camp hidden a little before dusk tonight and see if I can get a little closer to the action and get a better butthole-less angle.

That shot was kind of spur of the moment.
