his back hip is all messed up. buster got out of the yard on Thurs and cam back dragging his rear leg. I fear the worst b/c it ain't getting better. Now I gotta take him to the vet, and leave work early. He is an old boy now and I don't wanna put him down. If his hip is broken, that might be the only option. I am so bummed.

Sorry to hear about your doggie. I know it's hard keeping a determined dog in the yard, but try a little harder next time to ensure that he doesn't get out.

Dogs are loyal as can be an great companions...but they aren't the brightest things in the world, sometimes, and will do things like wander out into traffic.

Best of luck for the doggie. 🙂

I got an appt later today, I am gonna try to skip outta work early and take care of this. I am worried about him, they said I shouldve come in sooner.

Good luck to you and your dog. Think hard before putting him down. Many dogs can live happily with a limp or damaged hip.

Sorry to hear about that. I always think how sad it would be after 10-15 years when my little guy won't be with me any longer.

We live on a busy suburban street and my little Pomeranian has gotten loose a few times... all he wants to do is jet across the street... he's been very lucky so far. We have to watch him like a hawk. I don't think he knows the word loyal... he just wants to run as fast as those 4 inch legs can take him.

I hit a dog last summer. With the little girl standing in the front yard watching. I was tormented by the whole image of the scene for weeks.

But I found out later that the dog is doing fine. (Whew!)

AND YES YOU SHOULD HAVE TOOK HIM IMMEDIATELY

I know, thats really bothering me now, I gotta get out of here already and take him.

I almost hit a dog the other day, actually the car in front of me, but then i probably would have hit it too......got off of the owners leash, rushed into trafific....did an awsome(heh) 180 about 2 inches in front of the car in front of me and rushed back to the sidewalkgah, this is why i don't tailgate...he slammed on his brakes to a complete stop).....so we got out and helped the guy get the dog back on the leash....really small dog, not sure what breed(a dog is a dog, except a few) best wishes with your dog....i know how it is to loose one:frown:

good luck to your dog....i hope he/she's ok...

my good friend almost hit a dog once..but instead she chose to swere into a rock cliff....totalled her car, but the dog was cool...........and yea, other than some serious bruises and cuts, she was ok....now THAT is a dog lover!

Wow! no kidding .. that totally goes against what people tell you too; to just break and hope for the best but never swerve .. it could be either you or the animal.

Dude I feel for you. I walk my dog off leash and lately I've been kind of worried that this might happen. He's really well behaved though and 11 years old .. I've always walked him off leash, but now I'm thinking of putting him on.

Yeah he is okay. Getting better very fast, when I got home on Friday from work he was bouncing around already (he is 11 years old). I took him to the vet anyway. $350, and 2 x-rays, and 4 hours later, we see that his last 2 backbones are closer together. Thats where he yelped when the doc squeezed him there too. So that must be where he was hit Nothing broken though, very luckily. Now he is on Cortazone (sp) and back to his old self, I was so worried and thought that he was ready for the glue factory. Thanks for all the concern and support !!!

Buster is gonna be fine.
