Sounds like something that is usually trained into the dog. Any racists people in you family or friends that have contact with the dog?

That sounds kind of far-fetched.
How would you do that anyway? Hold up a pic of a black or hispanic person and shock the dog or something?

Does he apologize afterwards like Brian on Family Guy?

nope. at least, none that he has met. my gf is hispanic, but doesn't have the usual darker skin tone.

My dog would freak out around black people as well. My best guess is that because she wasn't around many black individuals while growing up, she wasn't used to the change in skin tone...so when black friends would come by in her adult years, it upset her.

i'm guessing that's the situation with my dog. he freaks out about just about everything. yoga ball, remote control, 360 controller, camera, etc.

Is it skin tone or hood/thug clothing? Does he bark at well dressed minorities?

my dog has the same problem. i got her from the humane society when she was about 6 months old. whenever we would go walking and pass a black person she would growl, cower behind me, and not the guy touch her. because of that i assumed that her previous owners beat her a little. which could have explained the nervous urination when she was a puppy.

I had a dog that was the same way, and we had her from when she was just a few months old.

Is your dog named George W. Bush? I think I heard about your dog during a Katrina relief benefit.

Or maybe it has something to do with dogs seeing in shades of gray and that darker shades produce some amount of fear into the dog.

My friend has a huge German Shepard that is a very nice and extremely well trained and behaved dog. One night they were out walking and passed a guy who just looked...very very sketchy at the least. The dog had never been aggressive and protective before, but started growling from 15 yards away and bore teeth and barked ferociously when they got closer.

That night the police were searching for a rapist in that and neighboring subdivisions. Definitely one of those coincidences that makes you think "hmmmmm".
