My Documents folders open with "Search Companion"!?

Pls. allow a new guy question. When I go to My Documents (Windows XP) and double click a folder, instead of opening it as it always has, suddenly today the annoying Windows "Search Companion" opens instead. I can still open the folder if I right click and select "Open", but I want my "same old same old" back.

Thank you so much for that link---very kind of you indeed. In the meantime, I remembered Windows XP "Restore Settings", and that did the trick.
