2nd time we had to go to the DMV in this county (moved here last year)... the second time the people there were exceptionally nice to us.

Get this: While we were filling out the form to register a vehicle, one of the guys in the DMV left the counter area (there was NO line - ha ha to you who have lines) and came over to us to ask if we needed any help filling out the forms.

Then, on the way home, we stopped at a grocery store - that doesn't just scan the stuff in. The lady had an actual conversation with us while she manually typed in the prices.

🙂 What a great community I live in.

i waited for 2 hours at the RMV (registry of motor vehicials) same as DMV here in boston to get my mass licence 🙁
car registration took 8 min tho

at my dmv you have a line to get the paper work so you can fill it out to get inline.

At my DMV, you have to get in line to fill out the paperwork to get in line for the paper work to get in line.

That's because allegany county only has 50K people.
I go to cattaraugus, chautaqua or allegany when I have to go to the DMV. There is no point going in Erie county, unless you want to retire while waiting in line.

last time i went to the dmv it took about 10 minutes total, between waiting and getting my picture taken and filling out forms

Yea that's texas, they let animals drive there.

I can do virtually everything online as well... Just not register a new vehicle. (or maybe I can... I'm not sure.)

But, heck, with dial-up, it's quicker to drive to the DMV and walk right up to the counter.

At my DMV, a man drove his car INTO the side of the building, then walked in and renewed his drivers license.

We also get our licenses 1 minute after the picture is taken... anyone else's state do that?

The soup nazi has nothing on an old lady that worked the counter at a DMV doing drivers licenses for a lot of years. She was famous all over the county for it. Every year you got your sticker and an ass chewing.

NJ is close. Mine took 5 minutes from the time the pic was taken. The DMV here (OR MVC, now) has gotten a heck of a lot better.
