My divx box has a shrunk picture on the TV...

How can I fix it? set at 640x480, the picture quality sucks, but when I go to 800x600, the picture shrinks considerably (3 inches in on both sides of the screen) What can I do? I think it's because it's keeping the aspect ratio but it pisses me off :| do you think 1024x768 will make it better (the current tv-out chipset I have in my vid card can't handle that, I'd need a different video card.

Thanks a bunch 😀

I am having such difficulties as well and have some questions...

1. (this is probably n00b question) How do i get sound? The plugs differ...my sound card accepts normal audio plugs while my tv accepts shorter smaller audio plugs

2. How do i set my vid card output res? I don't feel like fux0ring up the tvs screen config.

Thanks

Do you have an nVidia-based card? If so, the "border" around the edge is normal. nVidia cards suck for TVout. There is a program, however, called TVTool that supposedly lets you fix some of the problems you're having:

TVTool

I haven't used it, though.

Supposedly ATI cards are much better for TV out than nVidia based cards.

1. You probably just need a Y-adapter with a mini-stereo on one end and stereo RCA on the other. You can get it a Circuit City / Radio Shack for ~$5.

2. Check your display properties.
