My DFI Nforce 4 Ultra-D northbridge fan is dieing...

The fan hasnt stopped entirely, but its getting extremely loud, and the placement of the northbridge (behind the friggin PCI-E slot for the vid card) wont allow to install a waterblock or alternate HSF.

The board is otherwise fine, and id hate to RMA it for something so minor.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance guys,
Acanthus

Check out the Thermalright HR-05-SLI, it's offsets itself from the northbridge chip so that it won't get in the way of your video card.

Ill take a look, i really dont want to spend a lot to fix this, as i could RMA for shipping cost alone.

Im kind of on the fence though because i dont want the downtime either.

I heard somewhere many months ago that DFI will send you a free replacement fan if you call them up. I haven't tried doing it, as the fans on my boards are still running fine.
