My Desktop Outclasses my Laptop in every aspect...

When I'm trying to view various video clips, the video is choppy on the desktop, but the laptop runs it smooth as silk, and I swear I've got all the necessary codecs. Wtf could be the problem?

2. Scan for spyware.
3. get rid of uneeded resident programs.
4. Check memeory memory type /speed.
