As the title says, I have been having this issue since last week and yesterday I did an way overdue(4 years) cleaning out the dust out of my computer, but that didn't fix the problem at all. From doing a brief web search it seems this issue is very common among Dell display from around the same time period I brought mine. I was using the Dispalyport to MiniDisplayport cable but switched back to DVI-D, but no go.

One possible solution I may have found is to buy new cables. Now the Display has done this before, but not this often. I made sure to clean the dGPU and CPU but should I blow out my system again?

Seriously, though, do you have another monitor or cable to test with, to see if it's the monitor or port on the card or cable?

Also, check your Windows' power-management settings for giggles. Maybe someone set them to 1-min monitor-sleep on you as a joke.

I have a TV but I don't use Windows. I did however check Xfce Desktop Environment power setting and turned off power management for the display. That does seem to help.

I've heard that the 'AmazonBasics' cables are generally OK. I get the 'Coboc' brand cables @ Newegg, when they have some ridiculous 70% off sale, which they do fairly often.

I may or may not solved my issues with my display entering power saving mode and powering off. I went into the UEFI firmware and disabled all the C states of the CPU along with the deep sleep modes as well. In addiction I made sure all the high performance modes were enabled on top of all that.

OK it turns out that is not my display doing this as I was using TV playing some game and the TV did the same thing. So my GF 970 is the culprit then, or the cables I'm using. Maybe even both?

Well I'm having some trouble again, and this time it is the display I'm dealing with an issue again. So early this morning I clumsy kick a cable and now my monitor will not see any signals from the system. I tried both the DVI-D and mDP cables and no dice.

At first I thought my 970 "gone South" on me, but when I switched to my older 760 dGPU, same issue. Hooked up the TV and card works just fine and reinstalled the 970 and that does fine with the Television.

I'm going to hook up the HDMI cord later and see if I can get Dell U2014 to start working again.

Is it just or does shit happen in threes?

@VirtualLarry Well my display now works. All I day was was unplug the power cable for a week or so and today I decided to try the monitor again. I'm so happy the unit is working currently.:p:p:p:p
