I can't figure this out. Whether the laptop is closed or open, it doesnt sit level. You can wobble it from the front left to the back right. It seems to be balancing on something in the middle, i don't know. Anyone else notice this?

Well check to see that your table doesn't have any bumps or indentations first (i'm only saying cause one of my tables has that). Also, most laptops stand on small rubber pieces which are set in each corner. If one of these pieces is damaged/missing or isn't having proper contact with a surface, that'll cause the wobbling too. If neither of these situations apply, worst case is your laptop itself is somehow bent. If you can't identify this visually, just get a liquid level and test it at different angles on your laptop.

As far as i know, the 5100 stands on small rubber stands which are set in corners, & in the middle(as connoissuer said) My 8500 has them on the battery as well.

Check for missing rubber pieces. According to This there are supposed to be 5...

I can't figure it out, I think one of the rubber feet is shorter than the other one. Oh well, I guess I'll have to live with it.

That's easy. If the rubbers are uneven, then remove them all, that'll solve your problem :) heh

Mine sits pretty level, but I find the construction is lacking. The two plastic pieces of armrest on the Inspiron 8100 does tend to squeal if you move your hand around it and not lay still. And the base of the the laptop can be twisted quite easily.

Well, i do have an idea... I did this for an older laptop with a similar problem.(try at you own risk)

simply switch the short foot with the middle foot, and put the equal sized ones on all 4 corners. Should make it stable...

Also... DO NOT remove them all....

You will have some serious overheating issues!
