I don't see what's wrong, Mazda3's are in high demand, both new and used. He's sending out ads to tell you if you're thinking of trading to a new car that he'll give you a good deal. What's wrong with that? It seems very reasonable.

i thought of it as one of those "no credit application will be denied" come on.
the *up to* 90% set off warning bells.
it's just to get you to the dealership to shop for cars.
i'm thinking the trade in offers will be the same standard lowball trade in offers, and there's nothing the customer is getting special from this ad.

I wish they'd make me that offer for my 08 Mazda3. I love it, but I'd prolly trade it in for a Mazda5 for my wife, then trade her old van in for a used Corolla and a motorcycle.

the ad said they're giving up to 90% purchase value towards a new car.
I've just lost all respect for my dealership. i thought they were different in the scum ads/tactics. :|
NOBODY is going to get that amount for their trade. Nobody.Originally posted by: sandorski

They Sell Cars, they want to Sell another Car, they want to Sell a Car to You. For sure they won't give you 90% of the original Purchase value of your Car, but they still could make an offer that would be hard to beat. Your car is simply too old to warrant that level of a Trade-in, but many people who also recieved the Offer may get that amount. This is simple Marketing on their part. They have likely sent the exact same thing to all their previous Customers and even many who were not their Customers. If you don't want to buy another Car right now, don't, but don't hold this against the Dealer. :Q

All this is, is a mailer to get some people to come in who were already about halfway thinking of buying a new car. This is simply designed to push those folks over the edge and have them buy.
That's it.

i'll make you an offer of UP TO 90% purchase value sight unseen.
Yep...it is rare to find someone stupid enough to trade a vehicle they just bought, but it does happen.Originally posted by: sandorski

Possibly, but they might offer that amount to someone who just bought a vehicle. It would be a very rare occassion though.
