I cannot get my ddr2 to run any faster then 533 mhz. I have a feeling its because my fsb is only set to 220 with a 16x multiplier but the problem is the motherboard won't let me change the multiplier lower so I can overclock the fsb more. I have the abit fatal1ty board which is supposed to be super-dooper-cool for overclocking and this is kinda pissing me off.

SPECS
LGA Prescott 3.2ghz
Fatal1ty mobo
2GB ddr2 pc 5300 Geil Ram
74GB WD HD 10000 RPM
Saphire x850 xt pe Video Card
XP Pro wSp2
Samsung DVD RW
Samsung DVD Player/CDRW
Cooler Master Cavalier Case

I'm not really answering your question,
I am looking to OC my setup which is similar but need to buy memory for it.
Why/which memory did you get from Geil ?

I have a ASUS PDG2 Premium, it can use 600mhz ddr

maybe put the name of your mb in the topic and say "memory won't OC" instead of won't work, and maybe more ppl will look.

The websites that I looked at said something along the lines of the processor is what is locking the multiplier. The board is supposed to let me change the multiplier though. The ram is DDR2. It doesn't fit if it isn't 240 pins and its keyed so you can't stick the wrong stuff it. I couldn't find a patch or something to unlock it...which is what I was hoping someone knew how to find or knew of.

The latest BIOS Ver12, supports EIST, which uses the 14X multiplier to slow the chip down when it gets too hot. That is how those boards are getting 2 different multipliers.

I have downloaded the new bios and installed it. It says that the new one is installed but it will not allow me to get to the 14x mult still...I think its the processor...bah, more money to spend :(.
