fwiw, I wouldn't be surprised if neighborhoods that are friendly towards black Catholic-white Jewish lesbian couples are nicer than many other kinds of neighborhoods.

The odd thing about it was I was all excited and stunned about it and my daughter was all like what's the big deal? It is just normal to her and those of her generation. My kids are having much a different childhood than the one filled with black and gay bashing that I endured.

Yea shes in the avatar but she looks quite different now. That pic is two years old. I will have to update the avatar. At the last school dance, she danced with 4 different boys and turned many others down. She was the most popular girl there. She is destined to be a stunner.... just like her mom.

If she does have one fault, it is that she really only hangs out with other attractive popular girls. That aspect of school hasn't changed a bit from when I was a kid.

Did they adopt a Buddhist Asian transgender child? If not I want to know why the OP is allowing his daughter to interact with such narrow minded people.

What race were these boys?

When I was a child, race, gender, sexual orientation, whatever, didn't matter. People were just people.

My username, 12 stands for Shawon Dunston, a black player on the Cubs, 23 is Ryne Sandberg, a white player on the Cubs. Back then it wasn't a black player and a white player, they were all simply ball players like everyone else.

Not until I grew up and learned of the liberal way of viewing the world was I introduced to the concept of separating people by skin color and how that shapes people's understanding & treatment of them differently on that basis.

Just like you happened to do. She would never have thought to look at them as different races and different sexual orientations until a liberal made sure to point it out.

Let's say I believe you that people didn't see color when you were growing up, which I don't, but let's say that I do, do you really expect anyone to believe that nobody looked down on gay people back then? Really?

I didn't read his statement as "everyone" or even anything to do with other people's perceptions, just his own. It apparently took race-baiting obsessed libs to teach him otherwise.

Anyway, I actually appreciate the OP for his trolling entertainment value and fabricating these absurd little tales just to rile people. I think he just enjoys seeing what made up situation is just stupid enough to fool people into actually believing but not quite so blatent that people can't play along. At least he's not boring.

...this is a friendly suggestion, seriously.

This is not a good place to confide in people, especially about one's attractive daughter.

Yeah, but he said he didn't learn any of that until he grew up. That means he didn't hear anyone say anything negative about those groups for his entire childhood. I call shens on that. I also call shens that when he finally started hearing about these '"differences" it was from liberals.

Two were white and two were mixed race (black/asian) I think. I could[n't] care less what race my daughter dates.

You will when you have to raise your daughter's children. Which is statistically more likely if certain events occur (ones you try to push.)

You're only supposed to have one. Maybe two, max. That way you get to feel good about your commitment to diversity while ensuring that nobody at the party can act in any way you are culturally uncomfortable with.

For some reason this made me stop and think. I haven't regularly hung out with anyone that wasn't white since college. I had a black roommate back then that I still keep in touch with. But the places where I live, go eat, hang out, etc. are incredibly homogeneous. I live in downtown San Antonio, go out all over town, I'm part of a couple adult sports teams, a couple running groups and a hiking group. With the exception of an Asian dentist on my kickball team, everyone I ever interact with is white. This is even more staggering considering only 23% of the population of the city is white.
