I recently had to replace the battery on the ol' 1995 Pontiac Bonneville that my dad gave me a while back (i'm still trying to sell it since my new car purchase)

Anyway.. the damn thing's locked the radio now, and neither I nor my father remember what the code is to unlock it.

Is there an override somewhere? Is there someone I can call to fix it where they wouldn't think I stole the stupid thing?

Is it a factory radio? Go to the dealership and they'll probably be able to hook you up.

If it's aftermarket, go to an authorized installer. You might have to pay someone though, if they have to get the serial #, etc.

Ugh!

Doesn't work :(

when i hold down the 2 and 4 and press MIN, nothing happens. If I press "MIN" when the "LOC" is showing on my screen (without holding down the 2 and 4), it looks like it says "INOP"

Is there something else i need to do?

No idea but:

Maybe the power of the stereo has to be off before you press and hold the buttons while turning it on?

Or maybe it just has to be off OR on and then you do those steps.

Or maybe you can go register for the yahoo group that was posted and ask there. :p

I hope Pepsi90919's instructions work for you. :)

It could be worse. They could run the anti-theft system on Win XP. Then, you'd have to re-initialize your radio every time you changed the oil and buy an upgrade if you bought new tires.
