and I walked away without a scratch as far as I can tell (as did the other driver), but we'll see how I feel tomm... my dad's Mini Cooper S wasn't so lucky though, we wouldn't be surprized if its totaled.

The entire right side of the car is basically gone, axel snapped, airbags deployed, pressure from impact caused the glass to blow out of most of the windows...

other car was a mid-90's acura, front end was pretty bad but both passengers were fine.

what else can I say but I am glad to be alive...

It's amazing how safe cars have become with their 'cages.'

Anyone seen the crash video of the smart car into a wall?

Hit's a 45 degree wall at like 50 mph, the drive might be messed up, but the passanger could walk away.

I T-Boned an early 90's camaro with my 98 nissan sentra going 60mph... he was going the opposite direction i was and turned left in front of me thinking he could "beat me" before i went through the intersection going straight. all that happened was my wife had a hematoma in her gut and I had a hurt chest and forearm, but i'm sure it coulda been much worse. the worst part was when paramedics came and i asked how the other driver was doing and they said "he has no legs" and i about freaked out until they explained he was legless before the accident and driving with the hand pedals

I remember reading about the safety features of the Mini Cooper and was amazed with all the stuff they put into it, and it appears to have worked in saving your life. Think your dad will get another Mini Cooper?

Funny but thats exactly what I was thinking ... I doubt my Corolla would do as well in this type of crash despite the side airbags.

Anyway I'm glad to hear everyone is ok ... how did it happen?

My husband and I were in an accident last night. We're not sure exactly what happened, but it looks like the CV joint blew and he lost control of the car. We hit a guardrail, bounced off, went in to the median in the middle of the road, and almost flipped. The passenger side tire looks like it belongs on a hover car. It's at that angle. We're both ok, but I do have so massive bruising just above the ankle on the back of my leg. Ouch!

That was extremely scary.

You know what's kinda weird. Ever since my accident where I rear ended someone on the freeway (probably 10mph impact) I've been extremely scared of driving. Tonight i had issues getting back from the East Bay. Everytime someone cuts in front of me I tap the brakes slightly. No more tailgating for me. No more weaving. No more aggressive stuff. I've become a lot more cautious about merging too. I don't know. It seems like I just rewinded 4 years in my driving. I don't know what happened to the me that would merge through traffic aggressively to get on the carpool lane and then to weave across the Bay Bridge to make it to The City in time.

Glad to hear that you are OK. I had a hard time driving again, after my last crash. It wore off eventually though.
