Love to, but I'm in Communist Canada where we disarm our citizens and let the armed criminals roam free. :p

Arm yourself anyway. When I become a Canadian citizen, I'm certainly not going to turn in my weapons. Of course, I'll have the added advantage of having previously been a US citizen so I can buy quality firearms before denouncing my US citizenship.

You're a 17-year old angst-filled bitch. No one cares about how badass or "tough" you think you really are. Go work on your school's AV lab because you are such an awesome 1337 260lb "too much for america" uber-nerd.

A 260 lbs 17 year old? Good Lord!

Pretty stupid if you ask me. If this ever happens to one of you and you fight back and get stabbed or shot or even seriously beat down(I have a friend with brain damage from being worked over real good) you will be wishing you gave up a few measly dollars and some worthless plastic.

Yeah acting like Richard the Lion Hearted is so 13th Century (well unless you happen to be carrying a Broadsword with you to smite them down)

Got a question. Do people (non criminals) actually carry concealed weapons, or is just another big geek fantasy?

Fourty Five states have concealed carry laws. So yes, people in states that allow law abiding citizens to defend themselves, can carry concealed weapons. The specific laws vary state to state however.

www.packing.org will tell you everyting you want to know about it.

But what if you have to go to a bank?

You are allowed to carry in a bank.

Viper GTS

Not around here. They have built in metal detectors now that won't open the door to the bank... it's bizzarre.

I don't believe it was about the $70 dollars in his pocket, but the fact that he was being violated that gave him the courage to fight back. A few bruises won't hurt much but someone rips your dignity does. And yes we are very greatful that he was lucky. But in no way I myself would of given them my wallet even if there was nothing in it. F**K THAT!
Of course. Man I was getting screwed with a few weeks back by three dudes who wanted my lunch money and I was like "WTF, bitch!". I went NUTS on them. Absolutely nuts. The cops got there about 15 min later and one of the guys was undiscernable. Even dental records couldn't get a positive ID on him. The other guy I'd already blended up, fed into my gas tank, and was burning red smoke out the back of my car, and then the third guy...well I only broke all his ribs and left him alone as a warning to other would-be attackers. Do not mess.

Did you do all that damage by throwing bricks at them? :D

- M4H
It was actually a +20dmg Vorpal Brick he got off Ebay a few weeks ago. I can't believe those things are legal.

my walleye's letter opener does 2d12 +6, with an inherent critical threat range of 18-20. beat that.

Hell, I could beat that with my Big Wang of Terror +8" - it's got Fear attribute, so all I gotta do is unbuckle my pants and any enemies under Level 48 just surrender. :D

theives like asian plaza/supermarkets. it's filled with middle age/old, apathetic, mind your own business type, people. i saw a robbery at the san gabriel super store plaza, some punk grabbed a woman's purse and made a run for a getaway car at the other end of the parking lot. the husband was running after the guy and yelling for help, everyone just moved out of the way and gave the punk a nice corridor to the awaiting car, no one even took down the license plate. >_< i wish i was closer or near the getaway car instead of being at the wrong end of the parking lot stuck with my kid brother.

Would you have given the guy a Forearm Shiver?

no way would i have resisted.. you never know what thugs now a days are carrying.. your dad was seriously lucky that they didn't have a knife or gun... cause the tread title would be a lot different if they did... that being said, if two guys tried to mug me, i woulda just gave them all the cash i had on me.. they have no use for my credit cards since i'd cancel them asap.. so all they want is my cash.. and they coudl have it.. it's only money

that being said, your dad has balls.. remind him to st@b someone in the eye with the pen next time

lol, at the very least i would've gotten down the license plate. if he was close enough and was running by me, i'd give a shot at tripping him/kicking out his knee. it all depends, i was too far away and didn't see if he had a weapon or anything.

Couldn't believe this happened to my dad and it sure broke my heart to see that he was violated.
WTF! He got "violated" too? My ass cringes at the thought.

Two or more robbers, I'd gladly hand over my money. If one robber, maybe I'll make a run for freedom.

I agree...

And think about it from his point of view: What was the worst that would happen? He'd die? Hell, to me that's a great way to die! Die fighting!

He was defending his honor, and probably had a good time too!

Go Dad!!!

Tell him to carry less money and keep important things in a coat pocket on the inside or something so that if they take his wallet, they can have a few bucks and be happy. Oh yeah, don't let him go to the same area without knowing what to do in the future because likely that wasn't their first victim and may come back again.

Edit - And like EyeMWing mentioned, I'd want to be sure I'm better armed and quicker that the guy trying to get my money. Refer to above Communist Canada and ability to only carry a knife. :frown:

This could have ended as a Darwin Award winning post.. $70 is not worth dying over.. EVERY thug carries at least a knife.. My buddy got into a fight in a park with some old (70+) crazy guy and the guy pulled a knife on him (the old guy was calling passer-bys whores and such)... Who would have thought that an old guy would have a knife??? 20 year old muggers are armed.. That's why they're called muggers.. I think.. well, regardless.. While some manly men might say that your dad did the right thing the reality is taht he did not - he risked his life and risked really screwing up your life and his families well being for what- $70 and the pride of saying that he stood up to them? If he had a gun he should have calmly handed them the wallet and then shot them as they ran away... Otherwise he should have handed them the money and called the cops.. That's all.. He was wrong.. Now deal with it and hope that he doesn't pull this crap again in the future..

You have to choose your battles in life. Aim to fight the battles where winning or losing is really important. The importance of $70 or bragging rights is very low on the scale. Choose the right battle and you live to fight another. Choose stupid ones and...
