My dad was mugged yesterday...And he resisted!

My dad...almost 60 years old man talking on his cell phone in a asian plaza parking lot was approached by two black guys (maybe under 20) asking for his money. One of the guys reached for my dad and tried to take him down. My dad watched too many kung fu movies and aims for the guys nutz, grabbed his pen in his pocket and stabbed one of the guy in his hand. The other guy went behind my dad and clocked him in the jaw. The other guy clocked him in the eye (nasty black eye). Both were trying to reach for hiswallet in his pocket. My dad grabbed one of the guy's arm and slipped off a watch. My dad fell to the floor and they took his wallet and kicked him in the ribs and took off running. Called the cops and filed a report. Couldn't believe this happened to my dad and it sure broke my heart to see that he was violated.

He probably lost all his CC and license. Had roughly $70 in his wallet. Came home with a black eye and stories to tell the family. What would you have done? Gave them your wallet??

A wallet with 70 dollars ain't worth dieing over sadly. No money or posession is. Those guys could've had a knife or a gun and it could've gotten real ugly, real fast. Luckily for you're dad and you're family it turned out with only a couple of battle scars. If you get mugged just give up the wallet because money is not worth dieing over.

I would have given it. $70 isn't worth getting hurt for. You never know what one might do in the heat of the moment, could have pulled a gun or a knife. Altough if I had to do something, I would have bit. Biting someone renders them useless for a couple of seconds.

Arm yourself anyway. When I become a Canadian citizen, I'm certainly not going to turn in my weapons. Of course, I'll have the added advantage of having previously been a US citizen so I can buy quality firearms before denouncing my US citizenship.
