So I had a problem with my rear left tire where my pressure would drop over the course of a few days. I would pump it to 38 psi and 4 days later it would be at 20. I used to pump it on a regular basis. My dad suggested to me that I buy a tire sealant can and spray the stuff inside of it.

I bought a GUNK one at Wal-Mart for 8 bucks and sprayed it in. I followed the directions, drop the tires psi, cool weather, sprayed it in, drove around for 10 minutes, parked it and that's it. On my morning drive, everything was fine till the traffic unclogged on the freeway and I actually hit 100 km/h. I could feel the wobble at the back going through the whole car, the tire is obviously imbalanced.

WTF!!!

My dad has been destroying my car ever since I've bought it... :(

What can I do?

You should've just used some soapy water to find the leak, it could've been a $1 valve stem.

Ya, that crap is a last resort use. You should have just taken it to a shop and have them find the leak and patch or plug it.

You'll never get a good balance now.

Yea well, I wasn't going to do anything at all because I was fine pumping it up every couple of days, it was dropping but every time it got to a minimum point I inflated it back up.

My dad kept talking about this sealant shit forever now, always telling me to use it. I always told him I didn't care and I could pump it up, and he gave me that "you're an idiot and you know everything better look".

I'm pissed now cause I was planning on riding these tires out for the summer and winter time slapping on a new set of all seasons, now I think I have to get a new set sooner :(

So, you're willing to shell out for a new set of tires rather than do a little maintenance yourself? I'll take your trash out for only $50 a week!

Couldn't you take into the shop and have them clean the crap out of there? Sure you'll have to pay more than it would have initially costed to have the leak repaired but at least you don't have to buy new tires.

Here's a totally whacked out idea, put your spare on and use the tire with the sealant as a spare! If you have a donut spare, there's no hope for you anyway. You'll just have to sell the car.

Bring the tire to a shop to find and fix the leak. Use a shop that does inside the tire patches and they will get rid of that crap for you. The last thing you want is to be riding with a tire that is always going down. It will cause problems at some point. Also, if the sealed tire is now holding air ok, then maybe the tire shop can just rebalance it. But it it was for me, I would get it repaired correctly.

Just took it to a shop across my work. They cleaned out the stuff, and the reason for my leak was not a puncture but a filthy dirty rim that was leaking air. The cleaned the rim out and polished it. Hopefully it's good now. I should actually get all my rims cleaned, my pressure doesn't keep as good as I'd like it to.

30 bucks for the job the guy said I believe, going to pick it up in 20 minutes.
