I dunno, but it's unusual, since cell phone numbers aren't publicly known, unlike regular phones. Hence, no cell phones in phone books; Therefore, not many telemarketers. Meaning that your dad got his number sold by his provider to a spammer.

I read about this...there was a deadline on adding your cellphone number to the DNC list; I think it has since passed.

Oh ya, I think I remember a post like that on OT. Well, I'll tell him to tell the telemarketers to put him on their DNC list.

I thought that telemarketers couldn't call my cell because it costs me money.

See, thats what I thought. He has an unlimited talk time plan, but there is no way for the telemarketers to find that out.

Telemarketers should D|AF. So should the people who actually buy stuff from them, feeding their industry.

Next time:

Ask them what company they work for.
Ask them for contact information (phone number, address, manager name, etc.)
Inform them that they are calling a cellular phone.
Inform them that you will be sending them a bill for your used up minutes along with any attorney fees that may be incurred through legal consultation.
