Just got a Samsung XE700T1C-A02NL. What a beauty. And it works ok too:whiste: Nice screen, Full HD, and a SSD, small1 but ok. Just formatted the entire SSD and installed Windows 8 on it with VirtualBox to run Win 7. I need to be able to run my industrial applications at the custommers site. No problems up till now. Very cool&quiet running laptop. Ordered a M500 240Gb mSata drive for it. This 1 is 128Gb, a bit small. Just took the back off, which is easy to do, and saw its quite easy to swap the mSata for a larger drive. No void warranty sticker.

Wow, loading the the notebook with sw and using it a lot makes it sluggish. The i5 in this notebook is not very strong......hmmmm..........maybe not such a cute notebook after all. This is what I noticed more often in Intel based notbooks, after a while they become sluggish. Pity really. Desktops are way better in this regard. VirtualBox is also taxing this notebook.

Yeah a 1.7Ghz i5 isnt going to be the snappiest experience you've ever had. Any PC will become sluggish after a while without regular maintenance. For the same price you probably could have gotten something a little more powerful, albeit with out the fancy form factor.

Is there any reason you particularly need a tablet over just getting a regular laptop?

Threw a 240Gb M500 drive in it. Now its a bit faster. The only real nice CPU for a laptop is an 4+4ht core i7. VirtualBox is just too much for this little laptop.
I am truly spoiled by my big desktop PC's. They are so snappy. But the thing is I have to go inside factories and must be mobile to do the tests. And the programs used only work under 7. Nuissance really. So I need VirtualBox. And the weight is also crucial. Sometimes I am lying under conveyor belts with my tiny laptop on my belly controlling the RFID readers. Then the C60 netbook is still the ultimate tool(dual boot, win7+8). I thought the Samsung would be better but it is not. Its just not so practical.

did a fresh install of windows 8.1.............no problems encountered. Looks like the install is smaller too.
