My current AGP speed is 1x, how do i change into 2x... or above

Hi , i bought a 3D pprophet 2 MX and right now , my agp speed is 1x , but when i use the Sisoft Sandra , it says my mb can support 1x2x4 , and maximum transfer rate is 2x , but i just couldn't seem to change it to 2x, i have the VIA chipset, and i did change the VIAAGP1.SYS thingy, but i still coudln't get my video card to work, i am using win2k, is there nething i can do ? btw, my bios don't have any option regarding to those thing i want to change... since my computer is a compaq one, please help !!!

Normally you can change this setting in the BIOS.

If you have trouble don't worry, APG texturing does not give any significant boost in performance. The only thing the AGP bus is good for is reducing the workload of the PCI bus.
