*NOTE: Not recommended as a preventative for all 4 tires. Recommended as a repair only for automotive application due to possible tire imbalance. Not intended for speeds in excess of 75 m.p.h. Will not seal bead leaks.

Run flats are cool, but IMHO they don't make good performance tires with the runflat feature.

My boss has the Lexus SC430. It's a very nice ride, but those run flat tires cost an arm & leg, then again if you can afford a Lexus SC430 I pretty sure you can afford a couple hundreds worth of tires.

Probably because the intense jealousy of your friends will drive them to pound nails into your tires at night.

Because there is no room in the trunk or under the car for a spare tire.

Wow, that sucks. I was thinking a guy wit a 430 wouldn't be changing his own tire anyway, but theres not like AAA can show up with a magically matching wheel.

so basically they decided that a spare wasnt feasable to design in so they make you pay more for not having a spare...interesting

He woun't get much performance out of those tires either once he puts Slime in there.

He'll increase the rolling weight of the tires and potentially cause the tires to out of balance if that stuff dries on one side of the tire.

I use Slime, it's great stuff, but I use it to keep my wheel barrel tire from going flat.

there is a spare tire available for the SC but it removes what little trunk space their is.

He'd be an idiot to use Slime for flat prevention; I'd keep it around for repair, along with a small air compressor.

Oops you are correct.
You'll need the extra space. Our test model was equipped with the run-flat tires. We're told that most consumers choose the run-flat option, if not for the peace of mind, then to have at least a bit of trunk space. Equipped with a conventional spare tire, the SC 430's trunk allows 8.8 cubic feet of space, whereas an empty trunk allows for 9.4 cubic feet. Keep in mind that this is with the top up; in topless form, don't count on taking a carry-on much larger than a Ziploc bag full of toiletries.
