my coworker has worn jorts to work 3 days in a row

I wear Jean Shorts all the time, except at work. Regular jeans are too warm. That said, I don't like flip flops, I stick to sandals.

Meh. I own many pairs of jean shorts and wear them all summer. HOWEVER, I can't see them being appropriate attire for many jobs, even one where

it seems like 80% of the people here are wearing some form of a collard shirt + jeans or pants with the rest wearing jeans/t-shirt,

My wife worked for Cingular for a long time. The way some of her co-workers dressed made me shake my head on a regular basis. Pajamas, joggers, housecoats...like they were going to a slumber party instead of going to work.


BTW Loki, what part of the country do you live in? I've seen clothing made from some odd and unusual materials before, but I've never seen or heard of shirts being made from collard greens.
