Hey Spoooon, this is what you do!
Copy your RC5 folder into a new folder.
Delete the buff-in and buff-out from the new folder.
Make sure that the configuration is set for automatic running, lurkonly, etc. (no maintenance settings)
Email the remaining contents of the folder to your favourite relative/friend/mother-in-law.
In the body of the email:
Hi there my dearest Aunt,
It's me your geekiest nephew. I need some help in a contest I'm in. Could you please follow the attached instructions? This will help me a lot and it'll cost you nothing to help.
1. Start "Windows Explorer" from the Program files on your computer.
2. From the File menu select "New" and "Folder"
3. Name it RC5 by simply typing over the "New Folder" name.
4. Return to this email and make a right button mouse click on each of the attached files and by using the "save as" option from the menu that comes up, save each file into the new RC5 folder. You may have to navigate to the RC5 folder by using the down arrow at the top of the window that comes up. The arrow is at the end of the line that says "My Documents". If you select the C:\ drive you should be able to see and then select the RC5 folder.
5. "The tricky part"! Use "Windows Explorer" to open up our newly occupied RC5 folder and "left click" on the "dnetc" file.
6. Holding the left mouse button down continuously, "drag" the dnetc file down to the Windows "Start" button at the bottom left of the screen and the wait until it opens up the "Start Menu".
7. Keep dragging the file, first up to the "Programs" line and after it opens, out to the "Startup" folder and drop it there by releasing the mouse button.
That's it! You are now helping me sooooooo much!
Your favourite/favorite (choose one) Geek
Spoooon
PS: I am gradually getting better, but I'm sure your help is the medecine I need! XXXXX
Now the above works for me. It has only been too complicated for one to follow. Feel free to copy and paste.
What we need now is for the brilliant minds here is to make available a simple generic "install" program that we can modify before sending out by dropping in the latest client from dnet and our own individual .ini file. If we could produce something like the Borg disk (sorry never tried it)😉 that we can grab from the TA site and add to an email to cousin Kenny we can possibly double output in very short order!
