Ok well here's the deal. Ive got a gateway comp. Yes thats the deal, and Im convinced gateway is the devil, now onto my problem. I got it shipped with ME, yes I know don't tell me. So Im upgrading to 2000. The first time I upgrade I have this problem where when I try to install my newest video drivers it gives me an error.

INF ERROR
Video driver not found

So what the heck? I have done alot of toying with my crap, and my monitor isn't found at first right after upgrade, so I unplugged it for 15min's and restarted comp. I find it and install the latest .inf file. I was hoping that would fix the problem. It doesn't. So after alot of frustration, I decide to reformat and do a clean install. Well I reformat and do a clean install of windows 2k. I get half way thru and it asks for CD key, turns out I wrote the CD down wrong. So I have to put windows ME in. Go online and get a CD key. I find the one I was using before and find my mistake :( So I reformat again with the CD key written down correctly (I know for sure this time) and I go to enter in the CD key. It doesn't work again. Im like WTH. So I reformat AGAIN, and install windows ME, then do an upgrade with that same exact CD key I wrote down, and now it works! Ok so thats stupid... so now Im at this spot. And Im to the point of where I just might go back to Windows ME and hold off a few more months, till I get my new computer built. But I have one problem, all my essential files I want are on my secondary harddrive. Which I appear to have made it an NTFS drive, so my ME system doesn't see it :( Now, is there anyway to make it a Fat32 again, without having to reformat it? Or am I REALLY screwed now? Anyone have any ideas what I should do?

Install a Linux distro, enable NTFS read support, burn backups of all your stuff, completely reformat everything and start over again. Oh, and admitting to pirating Win2K isn't a very good idea, I'm not sure that the mods will be really happy with that.

If you can get a copy of Partition Magic 7.0 you can use it to convert the drive back to Fat 32. Version 6.0 may work, but I'm not sure.

I'm almost 99% sure upgrading from Windows ME to Windows 2000 is not supported by Microsoft. Also, in order to convert back to Fat32, I know PM7 can do it, but I don't know if PM6 can or cannot. Be safe and get 7.
