Hi I found my way to this forum while searching for a good firewall for my computer. Anyways here is my computer specs.

Windows 2002 XP sp2
AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core 4600+ 2.40GHz
MotherBoard: ASUS M2A-VM
2GB DDR2 667Mhz RAM
Hard Drive: 250GB SATAII 7200RPM with 8MB Cache
Graphic Card:ATI Radeon Xpress 1250
PSU: Deluxe Mid Tower case with 500W PSU

I consider myself somewhat of a middle to heavy range gamer playing about 3-4 hours of games per day on my computer. I don't play new games that much, but I sometimes play games such as doom 3 or battlefront 2 that would require a relatively good computer to play with.

Heres my question, is there anything that my current computer might need upgrading with to suite my current needs? Nowadays I mostly spend my time on my computer doing homework and stuff, but when summer comes I play a lot of games.

I brought this computer 4 months ago during summer time, and it cost me about $500. I'm willing to spend up to another $300 to upgrade anything else.

Thanks for any help and tips.

Go with either the Radeon HD3870 or the GeForce 8800GT 512MB and you're set.

Definitely lacking in graphics dept.

Check your PSU before buying a new gfx card. You'll need strong 12V rail(s), which a generic PSU might not provide.

Look at the side sticker on the PSU.
