When I try to shut down, the screen freezes with " Windows Is Shutting Down" . It started doing this after I installed a new Radeon 7000 an few months ago. I have the nevest drivers from ATI made for win XP (I have XP Home). Plz Help.

If you're using the SE version of win98 then make sure you have the "shutdown Supplement" installed from Microsoft...or if you do already then try reinstalling it...

there can be a ton of problems
try undoing what you recently did ( before the problem started)

<<Win98 SE>>

er... I think Bugalaman has XP, look he says so.

Interestingly Bugalaman, I've started getting the same problem on my Vaio GR215MP (XP Pro). But, only after I loaded my usual software on it - not after I loaded the ATI drivers. I tried resetting the laptop to factory default, and it had no problems with shutting down. It's only after I added more application software that shutdown started locking up. My current suspect is probably something that you don't have anything to do with, but it's worth uninstalling the current display driver, reinstalling the old display driver, see if it still happens, and if it does, try removing your memory/tray-resident software one by one.
